For many Ed­mon­to­ni­ans, noth­ing beats a warm sum­mer evening sit­ting on the hill over­look­ing the city’s down­town and lis­ten­ing to folk mu­sic. It’s the much-an­tic­i­pated folk fest, where folk, blue­grass, blues and in­die mu­sic col­lide. Sin­gle day tick­ets may still be avail­able. Grab a tarp and claim your piece of grass for a week­end of beau­ti­ful mu­sic from lo­cal, na­tional and in­ter­na­tional artists. EP­COR RIVER­FEST

A new city fes­ti­val cel­e­brates our beau­ti­ful river val­ley park sys­tem, and all the ways to en­joy it. Try a raft float on the North Saskatchewan River, or take in the out­door ac­tiv­i­ties, ex­hibitors and en­ter­tain­ment. You can even book a four-per­son ex­cur­sion along the river for a unique view of one of the city’s most­loved at­trac­tions.
