Man dies fol­low­ing two-ve­hi­cle crash

A man has died in a Hal­i­fax hospi­tal af­ter a two-ve­hi­cle crash.

Just af­ter 4 p.m. on Mon­day, Cape Bre­ton RCMP were called to a two-ve­hi­cle col­li­sion at the in­ter­sec­tion of Hwy. 4 and Black­ett’s Lake Rd. in Syd­ney Forks.

Two peo­ple in a Hyundai Ac­cent were taken by paramedics to the Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Hospi­tal. The driver, a 76year-old man, suf­fered se­ri­ous in­juries, while a 67-year-old male pas­sen­ger had non-life threat­en­ing in­juries.

The driver of a Chevro­let Sil­ver­ado was not in­jured.

The 76-year-old man was later air­lifted to QEII in Hal­i­fax via Lifef­light he­li­copter where he died early Tues­day morn­ing. More on the po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tion at thes­tar.com/hal­i­fax
