Vanity drills one m of 63.8 g/t Au at Phillips
VANITY CAPITAL Inc. has provided a report on the recently concluded diamond drilling program on a small area of the Phillips township property near Nestor Falls, Ontario, that portion which is under option from Luc Gagnon and Daniel Darrah.
See the news release of Feb. 15, 2017.
A total of 641.8 metres in 10 vertical holes at 25-metre spacings were drilled immediately north of the combined occurrence surface exposures. The area covered was 75 metres by 100 metres. The best intercepts were 63.8 grams per tonne gold over one metre in DH No. 1 extending to 18.87 g/t Au over 3.5 m and 2.26 g/t Au over 5.7 metres in DH No. 9. Five of the holes encountered values better than one g/t Au over a length of up to three metres in true core width. John Archibald, PGeo, vice-president of exploration, noted that at least two of the showings on Vanity’s owned portion of the property returned significant gold assays from surface sampling indicat ing a mu ch larger mineralized system.
The continuing plan is to determine which best geological tools should be used for the next program. The property exhibits similar characteristics to the nearby Cameron Lake, Goldlund and Rainy River deposits.
The sampling was done by Mr. Archibald who supervised both the drilling and prospecting programs using strict sampling protocols. The analyses were done by fire assay with an AA finish (30 grams), and any samples having better than 10 g/t Au were subjected to a total metallics assay. ALS Labs of Vancouver completed the analyses on both the core and grab samples from the prospecting program. See the attached table for further results on a hole-to-hole basis.
(See VYC Table 1 on page 17)
Vanity is continuing its pursuit of opportunities in the Abitibi greenstone belt of Quebec.
The press release has been reviewed and verified by John C. Archibald, PGeo, the qualified person, and VP, exploration, for Vanity.
