Pen­tic­ton - To the no­madic Sal­ish Na­tives “Pen-tak-tin” meant, roughly, that “this was a place to stay forever.” While gaz­ing upon the area, in 1866, Tom El­lis agreed - he built a great cat­tle ranch and planted a few fruit trees. Fifty years later the or­chards had spread across the ranch lands and to­day, the beau­ti­ful ranches and the mul­ti­tude of fruit trees make Pen­tic­ton a great place to visit and live as thou­sands of res­i­dents will at­test.
