No Fueling Around

Suncruiser West Coast - - Front Page - Putting gas in the tank, auto or marine, is so commonplace that we can become too relaxed and forget the tips that keep you, family and friends safe. Take a moment to revisit these marine-fuelling tips.

1. Tie the boat securely. Hanging a leg in the boat while sitting on the dock doesn’t count.

2. Shut down the engine(s). They don’t call it an ‘ignition’ for nothing. Gas vapours can also be ignited by other sparks so avoid having or using electrical items - even cell phones on or nearby while fuelling.

3. Everybody out. All your passengers need to vacate the boat. We don’t need them turning on the radio or lighting up. This will reduce your estates liability if you don’t follow the next tips.
