STRAIGHT UP John Kryk
No point spreads here. tells you who is going to win each game ... and why LATER GAMES MONDAY NIGHT
KRYK PICK: Does DeShone Kizer have a chance to outplay Ben Roethlisberger? Sure he does. As long as you also believe I alone can stop Hurricane Irma in its path by blowing hard from Central Ontario.
KRYK PICK: If the Cards finally have fixed their special teams, and maybe don’t bring the house on every third down defensively, they indeed can bounce back bigtime in ’17. The Lions defence is vulnerable.
KRYK PICK: J.J. Watt and the Texans will come out on a super high in flood-ravaged Houston. This is not a good thing for wobbly Jags QB Blake Bortles. Will we see Chad Henne at some point? Don’t be surprised.
KRYK PICK: Raiders defence remains dreadful, especially vs. the run. Titans’ ground-and-pounders will control the clock and keep Derek Carr and his powerful Raiders attack on the sideline much of the time.
KRYK PICK: An upset pick. Expect a shootout at FedEx Field, with second-year Eagles QB Carson Wentz out-gunslinging Kirk Cousins. Like him now? Huh?! 4:05 p.m. KRYK PICK: Until they get quarterback Andrew Luck back, perhaps even afterward, the Colts are gonna be bad. In new head coach Sean McVay’s debut the stout Rams D should
menace Colts QB Scott Tolzien throughout. 4:25 p.m. KRYK PICK: Seahawks’ front seven will get after Aaron Rodgers. Don’t be surprised if new Seattle RB Eddie Lacy — the former Packer — has some big runs versus his former team. Statement start for the Seahawks.
8:30 p.m. KRYK PICK: RB Ezekiel Elliott will play for Dallas with his suspension on hold. But Giants bottled him up last year. Dak Prescott too. Even with Odell Beckham likely out, Giants usually play very well in Big D.
7:10 p.m. KRYK PICK: Adrian Peterson wants revenge, but it’s tough gaining yards on these Vikings. Peterson’s big-buzz RB replacement in Minnesota, rookie Dalvin Cook, has a good chance to make a strong first impression.
10:20 p.m. KRYK PICK: Two head-coaching debuts: Anthony Lynn for the Chargers, Vance Joseph for the Broncos. We know what happens here. Phil Rivers looks awesome for two quarters, then, well, you know.
Adrian Peterson won’t have to wait long for a chance to gain some revenge on his former team, the Vikings. Top right, J.J. Watt is back and his stout Texans D should feast on Jags QB Blake Bortles.
