Turn your fridge into a social hub
As the old saying goes, the kitchen is the heart of the home. That’s something the Triby, a connected speaker from Invoxia, holds fast to. This funky gadget is all about keeping you and your family or housemates connected. A mash-up between a music streamer, a messaging service and an intercom, the Triby attaches to your fridge door, walls – in fact, any flat surface.
Bluetooth-enabled, it can stream your favourite radio stations, as well as Spotify tunes, via your smartphone. Subscribers to Spotify Premium can save playlists to the Triby, ready to play at the push of a preset button. Backed up by robust internal speakers and a bass amplifier made by In Vivo Acoustic technology, your favourite tracks will sound decent.
As for keeping in touch, the Triby can be used to make VoIP-based internet calls. A combination of HD voice tech and four digital mics means you can walk up to 15 feet away from the speaker and still be heard by whomever you’re gassing with, and there’s a Bluetooth hands-free option for taking calls even if you’re busy cooking or cleaning.
Want to send a note or doodle to your partner, mates or kids while you’re out? Write or doodle a message via the Triby app, and it’ll appear on the speaker’s screen (see above). A yellow flag pops out when the message is received, and the recipient can acknowledge the message by pushing the flag back in, by sending an emoticon or by using one of two preset phone buttons (you can program a button with your number) to call you.
