Un­der Wa­ter Din­ing at Lock 21 in Peterborough

For a uniquely Cana­dian culi­nary ad­ven­ture try this new ex­pe­ri­ence be­ing of­fered in the Peterborough and the Kawarthas re­gion, On­tario. The ex­pe­ri­ence be­gins by pad­dling a 36-foot voyageur ca­noe along the Trent-Sev­ern Water­way and into a large cham­ber that’s the world’s high­est hy­draulic lift. Then, par­tic­i­pants en­joy a guided tour of the locks learn­ing about the de­sign, con­struc­tion and work­ings of this his­toric en­gi­neer­ing won­der. Next are mock­tails and hors d’oeu­vres with the Tres Hom­bres, a trio of tal­ented lo­cal chefs who have pre­pared an in­ti­mate 5-course din­ner fea­tur­ing lo­cally sourced of­fer­ings from food pro­duc­ers within the Peterborough and Kawarthas re­gion.
