HALO 5: GUARDIANS
Developer: 343 Industries Publisher: Microsoft Studios Out: Q4
Although the somewhat botched launch of The Master Chief Collection back in November won’t have done 343 Industries’ reputation any favours among gamers, the developer has the opportunity to make up for things with Halo 5: Guardians this fall. Picking up where Halo 4 left off as the middle part in the new Reclaimer Trilogy, Guardians should prove to be a key part in the direction of the series’ future, and 343 has already shown that it’s more than capable of building upon the fine groundwork laid down by Bungie on the game’s original trilogy. Players who picked up The Master Chief Collection will likely already have had their first taste of Guardians’ gameplay thanks to a meaty beta served up by 343, where they’ll have noted some major changes to the game’s mechanics, including the removal of Armor Abilities and their replacement with Spartan Abilities, while eight maps have already been confirmed, with many more to follow in the near future.
