Trinity-St. Stephen’s UCW restarts after summer
The September meeting of Trinity-St. Stephen’s UCW was held on Tuesday with Gloria Frasier in the chair. She presented the re ection entitled e One Who Understands from Our Daily Living publication and closed with a short prayer.
Gloria also asked us to keep the families of the late Sheila Pipes, Kay Mullett, Arthur Conrad and Mary Livingstone in our prayers as well as Marina Russell, Mary Dickeson, Sandy Burke and Carolyn Seaman who all lost family members.
Our thoughts and prayers are also with Evelyn Smith (Victoria Street), Daphne Cullen, Alice Harrison, Melcora Brown and Judy Jonah who are all dealing with health issues and Charles and Jean Smith who are both waiting for surgical calls.
Letters of thank you from Camp Ta-Wa-Si , Olivia and Beth, and Ruth Gamble dealing with financial support and refreshments were read and noted. Reports were presented and approved with a special note that two members received life memberships and two other ladies have joined the UCW.
The subject of poverty dolls (given to members of parliament in recognition of child poverty) was brought up and members who are able are asked to check out the pattern in the o ce and make some as it is hoped that every MP will receive one. Please have completed dolls at the conference o ce by Oct. 23.
All the units had luncheons or suppers for their closing meetings and are now ready for the fall start-up meetings. ere was a thank you from Unit 3 for the assistance they received with the turkey salad take-out and Unit 1 is looking for gingerbreads as part of the Sundae Shoppe in connection with the Fibre Arts Quilt Display at Trinity-St Stephen’s. We are also looking for quilts as well, please.

Sept 16 - Women’s retreat at Camp Ta-Wa-Si, 9:30 till 3:30. Don’t forget something for morning break and lunch.
Sept 23 - Town food drive, please leave donations on doorstep.
Sept 24 - “Souper Sunday” following service
Oct 1 - We will be joining the Baptist Church for morning service, It is Rev. Byron Corkum’s retirement service. We all want to wish him the best!
Units 3 and 4 will be responsible for Oct kitchen cleanup following church.
