Richard Allen, “Dick” Cameron, age 86 passed away on Mon­day, Septem­ber 18, 2017, at Cum­ber­land Re­gional Health Care Cen­ter, Nap­pan, NS. Born in Amherst NS, on May 26, 1931, he was the son of the later Peter and Mary (Garvin) Cameron.

Dick is sur­vived by his best friend and lov­ing wife of 63 years, Eileen (Dixon) and daugh­ters, Helen, Hal­i­fax, Janet, Amherst, Peggy (Sher­man) Carter, Brook­dale and grand­chil­dren, Ash­ley Legere, Jeremy (Aimee) Legere, Alyson (Gabriel) Van­der­grift Sarah Carter (Charles Range), and son-in-law Larry (Bet­tie) Alexan­der. Be­sides his par­ents he was pre-de­ceased by daugh­ter Mar­i­lyn Alexan­der, sis­ters Lil­lian and Edith (in in­fancy), brothers, Gor­don, James, Ge­orge (in in­fancy), Cecil and Arthur. He was the last sur­viv­ing mem­ber of his fam­ily. Cre­ma­tion has taken place un­der the di­rec­tion of Camp­bell’s Funeral Home, Amherst. A Cel­e­bra­tion of Life will be held Satur­day, Septem­ber 30, 2017 from 2-4 p.m., at Camp­bell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-9906)
