Cine­plex Com­mu­nity Day event pro­vides free, fam­ily-friendly movies

Na­tional fundrais­ing ef­fort raises money in sup­port of WE char­ity

On Satur­day, Oct. 14, movielovers and their fam­i­lies across Nova Sco­tia are in­vited to visit their lo­cal Cine­plex the­atre and en­joy a morn­ing of free films for a good cause.

For the sev­enth con­sec­u­tive year, Cine­plex Com­mu­nity Day will treat guests to a se­lec­tion of pop­u­lar, fam­ily-friendly movies, with all pro­ceeds from do­na­tions and select con­ces­sion sales sup­port­ing the com­pany’s na­tional char­i­ta­ble part­ner, WE Char­ity, part of WE - a fam­ily of or­ga­ni­za­tions that makes do­ing good, doable.

This year’s line-up of free films in­cludes pop­u­lar releases for movie-lovers of all ages, such as Kung Fu Panda 3, Trolls, Ice Age: Col­li­sion Course, Miss Pere­grine’s Home for Pe­cu­liar Chil­dren, and Mike and Dave Need Wed­ding Dates.

Guests can en­joy con­ces­sions like pop­corn, soft drinks and select candy for just $2.50 each and, in ex­change for a $2 do­na­tion, the­atres will also be sell­ing a fun va­ri­ety of ME to WE Cine­plex ‘Change Bracelets’ which fea­ture mo­ti­va­tional state­ments to in­spire youth to cre­ate pos­i­tive change.

Cine­plex the­atres across Nova Sco­tia will open their doors at 9 a.m. on the 14th, with tick­ets avail­able on a first-come, first­served ba­sis only.

Movies will be­gin at 9:30 a.m., and all lo­ca­tions will re­turn to reg­u­lar pro­gram­ming in the af­ter­noon.
