Trin­ity-St. Stephen’s UCW to con­tinue Christ­mas stock­ing pro­gram

The Oc­to­ber UCW meet­ing was held in Kim­ball Lounge with Jean Smith of Unit 4 In the chair. She handed out new UCW pam­phlets to the 16 mem­bers present and in­vited Mary Dick­e­son to present re­flec­tions, the sub­ject of which was to re­mind us of the bounty of God’s bless­ing.

Prayers go out to the fam­i­lies of Bill Schu­bert and Ginger Mas­ton and also to those who have health is­sues or up­com­ing surgery.... named were Glo­ria Frasier, Jack Touchie, Treva Hebb and Timmy Howatt. We were pleased to hear that Mel­cora Brown was do­ing much bet­ter fol­low­ing her sec­ond surgery and had at­tended “Open Cir­cle” that week.

High­lights from the meet­ing were as fol­lows;

Cor­re­spon­dence was a thankyou card from Judy Jonah and a let­ter from Unit 2 stat­ing they would like to see the UCW con­tri­bu­tion to the church trea­sury re­moved from the bud­get.

Eve­lyn Bishop re­ported that two new sets of Godly Plays have been or­dered for Sun­day School. Head­ing up the Sun­day school pro­gram are Wanda Bickle and Dodie Dick­in­son.

Mem­bers of the con­gre­ga­tional care com­mit­tee re­ported that the muf­fin morn­ing went well. Their next project is get­ting Christ­mas cards and plants for our shut-ins. There are plans for a Feb. and May muf­fin morn­ing as well.

There will be a teller/usher work­shop on Oct. 15 fol­low­ing the morn­ing ser­vice.

The UCW rally at Camp TaWa-Si was well at­tended with 11 of our mem­bers in at­ten­dance. Chignecto Pres­by­te­rial will meet at Sackville UC on Oct. 26 be­gin­ning at 9:30 a.m. - it is hoped that each unit will have a rep. at the meet­ing.

The list of food items needed for the Christ­mas cheer boxes will be in the bul­letin on Oct. 8, also units are asked to state what food stuffs each unit will be re­spon­si­ble for. Dates for up­com­ing events: Oct. 13 and 14, there will be a “Sun­dae Shoppe” fea­tur­ing dif­fer­ent kinds of sun­daes (and also ginger bread) and tea and cof­fee at TSSUC as part of Trin­ity’s part in the Fiber Fes­ti­val. There will be an open quilt dis­play in the sanc­tu­ary.

Oct. 22 “Souper Sun­day” will be held fol­low­ing the church ser­vice.

Oct. 28 Rum­mage/Yard sale will be­gin at 9AM on Sat with setup on Fri af­ter 1PM.

Nov. 18 Beth­le­hem Mar­ket.... in­for­ma­tion to fol­low

Dec. 5 UCW pot luck lunch at noon with Units 1&2 re­spon­si­ble for wor­ship and pro­gram and Units 3&4 re­spon­si­ble for setup and clean up.

Next meet­ing will be held on Nov 7. with Unit 1 re­spon­si­ble for re­flec­tion and chair­ing the meet­ing.
