Laura Ada O’Brien 1937-2018

Laura Ada O’Brien, 80, of Mac­can, NS, passed away peace­fully on Wed­nes­day, March 21, 2018 at All Saints Hos­pi­tal, Springhill. Born at Lake Road, near Tata­m­agouche, NS, Laura was a daugh­ter of the late Henry and Irene (Mil­lett) Les­lie.

Laura had been a hair­dresser for over thirty-three years. She en­joyed crossword puz­zles and was an avid an­i­mal lover.

She will be sadly missed by her sons, Ge­orge, Ross, Chris (Shoana), Troy (Dawn); spe­cial grand­son, son, and best friend, Kevin; seven grand­chil­dren and eleven great grand­chil­dren.

Laura was the last sur­viv­ing mem­ber of her im­me­di­ate fam­ily. Be­sides her par­ents, Laura was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Ge­orge as well as her sis­ters, Aubrey and Pearl, and her brother Ge­orge.

Honour­ing Laura’s wishes there is to be no vis­i­ta­tion or funeral ser­vices. Ar­range­ments are un­der the care and guid­ance of Fur­long~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-6678777). Laura’s re­mains will be in­terred in the Mac­can Ceme­tery in the spring.
