Col­son ties AAHL play­off se­ries with J&K

Maltby ad­vances to cham­pi­onship se­ries with win over Blue­wave

Col­son Over­head Doors might have been down, but they were not out.

Down 1-0 in the best-of-three se­ries, the No. 4 Col­son Over­head Doors beat No. 1 J&K Elec­tric 5-2 dur­ing Amherst Adult Hockey League ac­tion Tues­day night at Amherst Sta­dium, ty­ing the se­ries 1-1.

Phil Far­row scored two goals and two as­sists, Rus­sell Scott two goals and one as­sist, and Bill Jobes added one goal. Also as­sist­ing for Col­son was Mark Black with two as­sists, and Brad Lin­klet­ter, Tim Ri­p­ley and Luke McSorely added one as­sist each.

Kur­tis Langille scored one goal and one as­sist for J&K, Dave Atkin­son scored one goal, and Chuck Chan­dler and Ryan Smith had one as­sist each.

J&K out­shot Col­son 33-21, with Kristy Brown fac­ing 33 shots in net for Col­son, and Remi Thomas fac­ing 21 shots in net for J&K.

Maltby Sports vs. Blue­wave En­ergy

Maltby Sports ad­vanced to the cham­pi­onship se­ries with a 7-4 win over Blue­wave En­ergy in Tues­day’s first matchup of the night, tak­ing their best-of-three se­ries 2-0.

Jordie Shaw led Maltby with three goals and one as­sist, Jon Tat­trie added one goal and one as­sist, and Chris Sproul, Chris Dwyer, and Corey Ro­bichaud added one goal each. Aaron Dob­son and Ian McCarthy had one as­sist each.

Mal­colm Estabrooks had two goals and one as­sist for Blue­wave, Mar­shall Mac­Don­ald added one goal and one as­sist, Lu­cas Hur­ley scored one goal, and Joel Stone added an as­sist.

Jar­ret Munn got the win in goal for Maltby, Justin Brown the loss.

Game 3 of the best-of-three semi-fi­nal play­off starts Satur­day at 6:45 p.m. Ad­mis­sion is free. Phil Far­row shoots the puck over the shoul­der and into the net on this sharp an­gled shot Mon­day night at Amherst Sta­dium. Far­row, along with his team, Col­son Over­head Doors, lost this game 7-2 but bounced back Tues­day night to take Game 2 by a score of 5-2. Game 3 is Satur­day night at 6:45 p.m. at Amherst Sta­dium Ad­mis­sion is free.
