Rod­er­ick Wil­liam Chap­man

It is with sad­ness that the fam­ily of Rod­er­ick Wil­liam Chap­man, age 76, of Amherst an­nounce his pass­ing on Mon­day, March 26, 2018 at Cum­ber­land Re­gional Health Care Cen­ter in Up­per Nap­pan, NS. Born in Amherst he was the son of the late Arthur and Frances (Lewis) Chap­man.

Rod was best known for the many years he drove for Kelly’s Am­bu­lance and D&J Taxi. He was a huge Amherst Ju­nior Ram­blers Fan and at­tended many of their home games. He was also a fan of the New Eng­land Pa­tri­ots. He loved to go on week­end road trips and en­joyed driv­ing all his life. He also en­joyed his af­ter­noon cof­fee at Tim Hor­ton’s with the boys.

He is sur­vived by his chil­dren, Cheryl (Perry) Fen­wick, Mary (War­ren), Barb (Henry), David (Janey), and Bil­lie all of Amherst as well as Roddy (Vel­vet), Port El­gin, 13 grand­chil­dren and 9 great grand­chil­dren, his com­pan­ion Delores “Dee” Wood of Amherst, her chil­dren Judy (Marty) Davis, Amherst and San­dra (Jose) San­ti­ago, Mas­sachusetts and their fam­i­lies, sis­ters He­len John­son and Sherry Dixon both of Ox­ford and brother Arthur, Nanaimo, B.C., many nieces and neph­ews.

Be­sides his par­ents he was pre­de­ceased by brothers Lester and George.

A Cel­e­bra­tion of Rod’s life will be held on Tues­day, April 3, 2018 from 6:00 un­til 8:00 p.m. at Camp­bell’s Fu­neral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902) 667-9906. Do­na­tions in Rod’s mem­ory may be made to the CRHCC Pal­lia­tive Care or to the fam­ily to as­sist with fi­nal ex­penses.
