Robertson Ave. and McDonald Street in his neighbourhood.

Each yard gets a flag, placed there by Stedman. Each flag remains as a gift to each family from Stedman in celebration of not only Canada, but much more.

When asked why he has continued his Canada Day flag celebration for so many years, his answer was how he sees things through his lens.

He explained that it was his celebration as well as the nations celebration on the country’s birthday.

“We have great neighbours and friends in our neighbourhood, we have a great community here in Labrador West and a great country,” he said. “It’s my way of saying thanks.”

This is an annual gift Stedman has been giving to his neighbourhood for all of these years with many folks who receive a flag from Stedman never knowing who does this.

Well Stedman, the jig is up, the folks from the community will know now. Thanks for quietly playing such an important role in making us all be proud Canadians.
