Thanksgiving affecting some city services
A number of services in Barrie are affected by Thanksgiving, which is Monday, Oct. 9. There will no Barrie Transit service that day. For more visit www.barrie.ca/ Transit Notices. There will be no garbage, organics, recycling and yard waste collection on Monday. Collection during the week of this holiday will occur one day later for the remainder of the week. Materials must be curbside by 7 a.m. on collection day. For more visit www. barrie.ca/Curbside Collection. Barrie Landfill is closed regularly every Sunday and Monday. All city recreation facilities will be open regular operating hours on Monday. However, all registered programs are cancelled; drop-in programs will be operating as per the regular drop-in schedule. For more, visit www.barrie.ca/dropins. Downtown parking, on-street and in the lots, is free on all statutory holidays. Waterfront parking is enforced 24/7.
