Groceries stuffed into backpack

The Barrie Examiner - - NEWS -

Unpaid groceries in a child’s backpack on Sept. 24 has led Barrie police to look for a man connected to this crime. At Joe’s No Frills that day, a man and a woman were captured on video surveillance selecting groceries, placing them inside a backpack and then putting it on the shoulders of a child. Store security stopped a man as he was leaving the Wellington Street West grocer and the items were returned – although a man fled on foot, and a woman and child were seen leaving the area in a black Chevrolet car. The man is 35-40 years old, police said, has a heavy build and a tear-drop tattoo below his right eye. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Const. B. Osborne at 705-725-7025, ext. 2783 or at bosborne@barriepolice.ca or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or visit tipsubmit.com.
