Out of the Cold opens to­day

Bar­rie Out of the Cold will open its doors to­day, pro­vid­ing meals and overnight ac­com­mo­da­tion to those with­out homes.

This marks the start of 20 years of pro­vid­ing safe, re­spect­ful, wel­com­ing overnight ac­com­mo­da­tion and meals from Novem­ber to April.

Com­mu­nity sup­port along with vol­un­teers are es­sen­tial in or­der for Bar­rie Out of the Cold to con­tinue to be there as an al­ter­na­tive to sleep­ing out in the cold.

Its sea­son of op­er­a­tion runs from mid-Novem­ber to the end of April, out of five host churches, pro­vid­ing meals and overnight ac­com­mo­da­tions for guests. Bar­rie Out of the Cold has been serving up hos­pi­tal­ity and com­pas­sion to those in need since Jan­uary 1988.
