The Barrie Examiner - - NEWS -

INNISFIL — A vehicle stolen in Barrie was recovered by South Simcoe police Sunday afternoon. At 3:45 p.m. a traffic officer ran the licence plate of an Innisfil Beach Road vehicle through his computer.

It showed the vehicle had been reported stolen to Barrie city police just more than a week before.

The South Simcoe officer followed it to a gas station and arrested the driver, a 36-year-old Barrie man. Another computer check showed the man was also wanted by Barrie police on a warrant for failing to comply with his probation conditions.

He was turned over to Barrie police and now also faces charges of possession of property obtained by crime, pertaining to the vehicle, and driving while suspended.
