Terra Nova Na­tional Park gear­ing up to cel­e­brate Canada 150

This year also marks the 60th an­niver­sary of the park

You can find many ways to cel­e­brate Canada’s 150th birth­day this sum­mer at Terra Nova Na­tional Park.

A list of events at the park cel­e­brat­ing Canada Day in­clude:

Cel­e­bra­tion of Cul­ture on June 24: A cel­e­bra­tion of the tra­di­tions and cul­ture of the Mi’Kmaq peo­ple of New­found­land.

Spe­cial Canada Day Cel­e­bra­tions on July 1: The park will be cel­e­brat­ing Canada Day with games, songs, cake, prizes, and more.

The Great Cana­dian Camp­fire on July 15: To cel­e­brate the unique camp­ing tra­di­tion of the park, Terra Nova will be host­ing a camp­fire, com­plete with mu­sic, hot choco­late, s’mores, and more.

Night Sky Cel­e­bra­tion on Aug. 4-5: The St. John’s Chap­ter of the Royal As­tro­nom­i­cal So­ci­ety will be join­ing with Terra Nova Na­tional Park to host the third an­nual Night Sky Cel­e­bra­tion, where vis­i­tors will learn about their nat­u­ral world. Vis­i­tors will get crash course in us­ing the view­ing equip­ment.

To rec­og­nize Canada 150, the govern­ment of Canada is of­fer­ing free ad­mis­sion to all Na­tional Parks, His­toric Sites, and Ma­rine Con­ser­va­tion ar­eas.
