Terra Nova National Park gearing up to celebrate Canada 150
This year also marks the 60th anniversary of the park
You can find many ways to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday this summer at Terra Nova National Park.
A list of events at the park celebrating Canada Day include:
Celebration of Culture on June 24: A celebration of the traditions and culture of the Mi’Kmaq people of Newfoundland.
Special Canada Day Celebrations on July 1: The park will be celebrating Canada Day with games, songs, cake, prizes, and more.
The Great Canadian Campfire on July 15: To celebrate the unique camping tradition of the park, Terra Nova will be hosting a campfire, complete with music, hot chocolate, s’mores, and more.
Night Sky Celebration on Aug. 4-5: The St. John’s Chapter of the Royal Astronomical Society will be joining with Terra Nova National Park to host the third annual Night Sky Celebration, where visitors will learn about their natural world. Visitors will get crash course in using the viewing equipment.
To recognize Canada 150, the government of Canada is offering free admission to all National Parks, Historic Sites, and Marine Conservation areas. Terra Nova National Park offers up a large landscape to explore the great outdoors.
