Sus­pects ar­rested in Milverton bank rob­bery


A pair from Bramp­ton face mul­ti­ple charges in con­nec­tion with re­cent bank rob­beries in Milverton and Dray­ton.

Perth and Welling­ton OPP of­fi­cers worked with Peel Re­gion Po­lice af­ter sim­i­lar thefts oc­curred in the two small towns and Bramp­ton. Po­lice iden­ti­fied the pair this past week­end – Satur­day at 1:15 a.m. – and they were charged in con­nec­tion to an armed rob­bery in Bramp­ton. Po­lice say they were also re­spon­si­ble for the pair of rob­beries in Perth and Welling­ton coun­ties.

A 45-year-old Bramp­ton man has been charged with two counts each of rob­bery with a weapon, dis­guise with in­tent, and point­ing a firearm. A 19-year-old woman from Bramp­ton was also charged with two counts of rob­bery with a weapon. They will both ap­pear in Strat­ford court for bail hear­ings.

The Milverton CIBC was robbed on July 25. At the time po­lice said an un­known male en­tered the bank with a weapon. They later re­leased im­ages of the sus­pect.

On Aug. 1, po­lice re­sponded to an in­ci­dent at the RBC bank in Dray­ton. In both cases, a man wear­ing a dis­guise left on foot with an undis­closed amount of cash.
