Harassment of raw milk advocate

The Beacon Herald - - OPINION -

It distresses me that Ontario raw milk advocate Michael Schmidt has been endlessly harassed and dragged through the courts and even imprisoned for providing people with a healthy alternative to store-bought, pasteurized and homogenized (i.e. denatured) milk.

Natural, raw, untreated milk from healthy cows or goats is one of the best foods known to man and has been safely used in myriad ways for thousands of years.

If people want to drink raw milk, their access to it should not be hampered by the opinions of so-called “government experts” who have likely never seen the inside of a barn, much less milked a cow.

Our government permits the sale of countless foods and drinks containing aspartame, an ingredient that has extensive negative health effects and, in fact, precipitates a craving for carbohydrates that results in weight gain.

A government like this, which is unable to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy food, should be turfed for this reason alone.
