Thank you from L’Arche
L’Arche Stratford held its third annual Walk ‘n’ Roll with L’Arche on Saturday, Oct. 20. Close to ninety people enjoyed the walk around the river on the crisp sunny morning and raised over $10,000.
Thank you to everyone who supported us, to those of you who joined in the walk, and to all who made the event possible! Special thanks go to bagpiper Justyn Reid who led the Walk, to the Black Angus Restaurant & Catering who warmed us with coffee, and to Beacon Herald reporter Cory Smith for a great article and photos in the newspaper!
This year marks the 45th anniversary of L’Arche in Stratford. Over those years, we have welcomed many individuals with intellectual disabilities to share life with assistants from around the world in mutually transforming relationships.
As well as enriching community life, the funds you raised on this year’s Walk ‘n’ Roll will go towards renovating our new community centre on Britannia Street. We purchased the former Montessori school a year ago, and hope to begin renovations in early 2019. The centre will be home to an expanded day program, to the L’Arche offices, as well as six new residential suites enabling us to welcome more core members.
Thank you Stratford for your generous support of L’Arche!
