Pot legalization another bureaucratic nightmare
Another bureaucratic mess. Pot gets legalized, but there is no sufficient supply for the the demand. I agree with the police shutting down illegal stores as they are just unchecked dope dealers with signage. However, I also very much agree with legalization.
Gee, the government asked underground drug dealers for info and were lied to! Whose inane idea was that? Perhaps they should have spoken with industry professionals like Bruce Litton at Canopy/Tweed who actually know what they are doing.
Further, retail sales licences should have been granted for the date of planned legalization. Maybe the poor underpaid workers at Cannabis Post wouldn’t be able to take advantage of the mail-only distribution with rotating strikes to endear themselves even further to the public. (Where else can these bullies with high-five-figure salaries and Grade 12 educations get such a sweet deal?)
The government is forcing pot users to go back to the street dealers where they buy
God knows what or even fentanyl-laced crap that kills, not heals. Then there are the “NIMBY” regions/councils not wanting retail pot stores in their area. These are the same people screaming to have beer/liquor stores closer to home, even available 24-7 in corner stores! Gee, not like alcohol ever cost the health industry or caused death and violence? I’ve seen these same people let their five-year-olds drink from their beer and think it’s cute! Maybe these same regions should not receive their share of the pot tax revenue, either.
