Sugar Kings snap Cy­clones’ win streak

Kur­tis Good­win scored twice, in­clud­ing the win­ner 16 sec­onds into dou­ble over­time, to give the Elmira Sugar Kings a 3-2 win over the Lis­towel Cy­clones at the Steve Kerr Memo­rial Com­plex Fri­day night.

The win snapped Lis­towel’s 11-game win streak, but the Cy­clones have points in 12 straight.

Jonah Bur­ley had a goal and two as­sists for Elmira.

Hol­dyn Lansink had a goal and as­sist for the Cy­clones, and Bray­den Krieger added a sin­gle marker.

Sugar Kings goalie Mat Woro­niuk made 23 saves, and Cy­clones coun­ter­part Ri­ley McCabe stopped 28 shots.

Each team had a power-play goal. Lis­towel (13-2-0-2) sits sec­ond in the Mid­west­ern Con­fer­ence.
