Sugar Kings snap Cyclones’ win streak
Kurtis Goodwin scored twice, including the winner 16 seconds into double overtime, to give the Elmira Sugar Kings a 3-2 win over the Listowel Cyclones at the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex Friday night.
The win snapped Listowel’s 11-game win streak, but the Cyclones have points in 12 straight.
Jonah Burley had a goal and two assists for Elmira.
Holdyn Lansink had a goal and assist for the Cyclones, and Brayden Krieger added a single marker.
Sugar Kings goalie Mat Woroniuk made 23 saves, and Cyclones counterpart Riley McCabe stopped 28 shots.
Each team had a power-play goal. Listowel (13-2-0-2) sits second in the Midwestern Conference.
