Rotem Segev is the new deputy con­sul gen­eral for Is­rael in Mon­treal. A biotech­nol­ogy en­gi­neer by train­ing, Segev is in her first post­ing abroad. An­other new face at the con­sulate is Na’omi Ca­nart in the new po­si­tion of di­rec­tor of busi­ness de­vel­op­ment. She re­turns to Mon­treal af­ter sev­eral years in Lon­don to bol­ster trade re­la­tions be­tween Is­rael and Que­bec and At­lantic Canada…

Alum­nus Mitch Gar­ber (‘81), who has had tre­men­dous suc­cess in on­line gam­ing, re­turned to Bia­lik High School to speak to Grade 11 stu­dents and teach­ers about the im­por­tance of speak­ing French and ap­pre­ci­at­ing Que­bec cul­ture, as well as of education and pur­su­ing a ca­reer that matches one’s in­ter­ests. Gar­ber is CEO of Cae­sars Ac­qui­si­tion Com­pany, which owns the World Se­ries of Poker, and chair of Cirque du Soleil. He was Cen­traide’s 2016 Mon­treal co-chair and a Que­bec re­al­ity show star.
