SPECIAL-NEEDS YOUNG ADULTS
Fcconnect is the name of a new program at the Friendship Circle that invites college students and young professionals to become buddies with young adults with special needs. Monthly “Hangouts” are planned at various locales. The first this month was held at the Forum Sports Bar where they gathered to watch the Montreal Canadiens-calgary Flames game. www.friendshipcircle. ca.
In honour of Canada’s 150th anniversary, Grade 2 students at Jewish People’s and Peretz Schools are collecting postcards from across the country for a project led by teacher Lindsay Frank. The class is requesting that Canadians from as many locations as possible send them a postcard, including a few words expressing what being Canadian means to them. Each postcard will be pinned to a giant map on display in the school. Postcards should be sent to Lindsay Frank’s Grade 2 Class, JPPS Elementary School, 6500 Kildare Rd., Côte St. Luc, Que. H4W 3B8.
