Obama and Israel
Andrew Silow-carroll is both right and wrong about former U.S. president Barack Obama (“Obama was the face of liberal Zionism – for better or worse,” Jan. 26).
He’s right in that Obama was definitely the “wrong kind of pro-israel for the times,” but wrong in that the former president should be faulted for a “rosy, idealistic, and ultimately naive view” not of Israel but rather of the Palestinians. Anyone even minimally familiar with the policies of the Palestinian Authority knows that it is in no way a credible partner for peace.
