Fu­neral ser­vice for the late Lillian Isabell Simms, 84, Thor­burn, for­merly of New Har­bour, was held Septem­ber 5 in Har­bour Light Full Gospel Church, Cod­dles Har­bour, with Pas­tor Scott Chan­dler of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial was in the Thor­burn Pres­by­te­rian Ceme­tery.

Mrs. Simms died Au­gust 31, 2018, in Aberdeen Re­gional Hos­pi­tal, New Glas­gow.

Born in New Har­bour, she was a daugh­ter of the late Aubrey and Elsie (Sang­ster) Wright. She worked at Canso Seafoods, did house­work for peo­ple, was a seam­stress, en­joyed quilt­ing and was a can­cer sur­vivor. She was a home­maker who was very proud of the won­der­ful fam­ily she raised.

She is sur­vived by two sons, Ge­orge (Dot), Ken­zieville; John (Edna), New Har­bour; two daugh­ters, Lori (Danny) Sang­ster, New Har­bour; Su­san (Tyson) Ger­rior, Blue Moun­tain; son-in-law, Daniel Shee­han (Pat Steele), New Har­bour; 15 grand­chil­dren, 24 great­grand­chil­dren; four sib­lings, Josephine (Percy) Pinkham, Au­drey (El­liott) Wright, Ed­win (Barbara) Wright, Eva Pirie; many nieces, neph­ews and their fam­i­lies.

She was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band of 59 years, Ross; three daugh­ters, Joanne, Sherry, Re­becca; three sib­lings, John, Earl (Hope), Mar­jorie (Irv­ing) Childs; brother-in-law, Grant Pirie.
