Fu­neral ser­vice for the late Anne Marie Mcna­mara, 76, Sun­set Manor, Port Hawkes­bury, for­merly of Evanston, was held Septem­ber 28 in Saint Fran­cis De Sales Church, Lower River, with Father Dun­can Mcisaac of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial was in Saint Pa­trick’s Ceme­tery, White­side.

Ms. Mcna­mara died Septem­ber 25, 2018, in Strait Rich­mond Hospi­tal, Evanston.

Born in Evanston, she was the daugh­ter of Clara and John David Mcna­mara. She was a long-time mem­ber of St. Fran­cis De Sales Catholic Women’s League. She was a grad­u­ate of Saint Martha’s School of Nurs­ing, class of 1962. She was very proud of her nurs­ing ser­vice, and the friend­ships she made while nurs­ing, we’re true and last­ing. She val­ued her time as a nurse, and in later years, vol­un­teered at the Strait Rich­mond Hospi­tal and at the Port Hawkes­bury Nurs­ing Home. She was an avid reader, and kept in close cor­re­spon­dence with many of her for­mer class­mates, cousins and friends. She was a res­i­dent of Sun­set Manor for the past 18 years. She built many friend­ships and she en­joyed car­ing for any­one in need.

She is sur­vived by five brothers, John Eddy, Port Hawkes­bury; Noel (Mar­i­lyn), Grand Greve; Al­fred (El­iz­a­beth), Evanston; Den­nis (Karen), Evanston; Louis (Louise), Sus­sex; two sis­ters, Betty (Wal­ter), Evanston; Sheila (Al­lan), Rock­ing­ham; sis­ter-in-law, Karen, White­side, spe­cial aunt, Wilma Burke, Bai­ley’s Brook; nu­mer­ous nieces, neph­ews, cousins.

She was pre­de­ceased by brother, Joseph ‘Joe’ Mcna­mara; neph­ews, John Wes­ley Walker, Devon Gil­bert; nu­mer­ous aunts, un­cles, cousins.

a fresh loaf of bread on the counter and a piece of home­made cheese. Many hay­mak­ers en­joyed her home cooked meals. Her grand­chil­dren were her pride and joy and they en­joyed many af­ter school stops at ‘Grams’ for a cookie and a game of cards.

She is sur­vived by three sons, Don­nie (Karen), John (Lisa), Doug (Kim), all of James River; two daugh­ters, Carol Ann (Ru­pert) Lutes, Camp­bell­ton, New Bruns­wick; Charlene (Shaun) Chisholm, James River; 14 grand­chil­dren, Gina, Matthew, Me­lanie, Al­li­son, Jen­nifer, Melissa, Amanda, Lau­ren, Andrew, Brent, Peter, Maura, Tyler, Daniel; three great-grand­chil­dren, Alexan­dra, Mia, Henry; two brothers, Everett, Fran­cis, Antigo­nish.

She was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Peter ‘Paddy’ Mac­don­ald; four brothers, Leonard,

Char­lie, Al­bert, Lou; three sis­ters, Kath­leen, Annabelle, An­nie.
