ANNE MARIE MCNAMARA
Funeral service for the late Anne Marie Mcnamara, 76, Sunset Manor, Port Hawkesbury, formerly of Evanston, was held September 28 in Saint Francis De Sales Church, Lower River, with Father Duncan Mcisaac officiating. Burial was in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Whiteside.
Ms. Mcnamara died September 25, 2018, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston.
Born in Evanston, she was the daughter of Clara and John David Mcnamara. She was a long-time member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Women’s League. She was a graduate of Saint Martha’s School of Nursing, class of 1962. She was very proud of her nursing service, and the friendships she made while nursing, we’re true and lasting. She valued her time as a nurse, and in later years, volunteered at the Strait Richmond Hospital and at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. She was an avid reader, and kept in close correspondence with many of her former classmates, cousins and friends. She was a resident of Sunset Manor for the past 18 years. She built many friendships and she enjoyed caring for anyone in need.
She is survived by five brothers, John Eddy, Port Hawkesbury; Noel (Marilyn), Grand Greve; Alfred (Elizabeth), Evanston; Dennis (Karen), Evanston; Louis (Louise), Sussex; two sisters, Betty (Walter), Evanston; Sheila (Allan), Rockingham; sister-in-law, Karen, Whiteside, special aunt, Wilma Burke, Bailey’s Brook; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
She was predeceased by brother, Joseph ‘Joe’ Mcnamara; nephews, John Wesley Walker, Devon Gilbert; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins.
Memorial donations may be made to Strait Richmond Hospital Palliative Care Fund or Saint Patrick’s Cemetery Fund.

a fresh loaf of bread on the counter and a piece of homemade cheese. Many haymakers enjoyed her home cooked meals. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and they enjoyed many after school stops at ‘Grams’ for a cookie and a game of cards.
She is survived by three sons, Donnie (Karen), John (Lisa), Doug (Kim), all of James River; two daughters, Carol Ann (Rupert) Lutes, Campbellton, New Brunswick; Charlene (Shaun) Chisholm, James River; 14 grandchildren, Gina, Matthew, Melanie, Allison, Jennifer, Melissa, Amanda, Lauren, Andrew, Brent, Peter, Maura, Tyler, Daniel; three great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Mia, Henry; two brothers, Everett, Francis, Antigonish.
She was predeceased by her husband, Peter ‘Paddy’ Macdonald; four brothers, Leonard,
Charlie, Albert, Lou; three sisters, Kathleen, Annabelle, Annie.
