Fu­neral ser­vice for the late Percy Dou­glas Ge­orge, 79, Lit­tle Dover, Guys­bor­ough County, was held Septem­ber 25 in St. Agnes Ro­man Catholic Church, Lit­tle Dover, with Father Jonathan Nna­jio­for of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial was in the parish ceme­tery.

21, 2018, in Eastern Memo­rial Hospi­tal, Canso.

Born June 4, 1939, in Canso, he was the el­dest son of the late Fred­er­ick and Leona (Newell) Ge­orge. He worked as a qual­i­fied fish cut­ter in Port Bick­er­ton, Mul­grave and Canso for many years. He en­joyed play­ing cards with his wife and friends. He was a de­voted and faith­ful mem­ber of St. Agnes Parish, Lit­tle Dover. He vol­un­teered on many com­mit­tees: the Lit­tle Dover Fire Dept., St. Agnes Parish Coun­cil, Lit­tle

Dover Com­mu­nity De­vel­op­ment As­so­ci­a­tion and do­nated a lot of his time to the Black Duck Cove Project. He was awarded the Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Vol­un­teer of the Year Award in 2007.

He is sur­vived by his wife of 57 years, Marie (Bouchie); two sons, Steve (Valda), Les­terdale; Mike, Lit­tle Dover; two grand­chil­dren, Nathaniel, Guys­bor­ough; Amy Leigh, Les­terdale; two brothers, Gor­don (Noreen), Jerry (Heather), both of Canso; four sis­ters, Lau­rena, En­field; Shirley, Canso; Freda Kon­ning, On­tario; Pam (Tony Bai­ley), Glace Bay; many nieces and neph­ews.

He was pre­de­ceased by sis­ter, Nina (Jud Felt­mate); brother, Free­man (Pierenna); brother-in­law, Joe Kon­ning.
