Build­ing an In­ter-cul­tural Work­place tak­ing place Oct. 18

The Antigo­nish Women’s Re­source Cen­tre and the Antigo­nish Com­mu­nity Health Board are hold­ing a free in­ter-cul­tural com­pe­tency work­shop, en­ti­tled Build­ing an In­ter-cul­tural Work­place.

In this work­shop, par­tic­i­pants will learn how ev­ery­one can cre­ate and mod­ify a work­place cul­ture, be­come fa­mil­iar with the idea of a ‘in­ter-cul­tural work­place,’ and un­der­stand streo­types and how to get beyond them.

The work­shop is open to lo­cal com­mu­nity mem­bers, com­mu­nity-based or­ga­ni­za­tions, health­care, ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tu­tions, gov­ern­ment/non-gov­ern­ment agen­cies and oth­ers, who work with di­verse pop­u­la­tions.

The work­shop will take place on Thurs­day, Oct. 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the com­mu­nity room at the Peo­ple’s Place Li­brary.
