Fu­neral ser­vice for the late Mary Colleen Sloan, 79, R.K. Mac­don­ald Nurs­ing Home, Antigo­nish, was held Oc­to­ber 1 in Im­mac­u­late Con­cep­tion Church, Heather­ton, with Fa­ther An­drew Gil­lies of­fi­ci­at­ing, as­sisted by Dea­con Art Ri­ley. Burial was in the parish ceme­tery.

Mrs. Sloan died Septem­ber 26, 2018, in St. Martha’s Re­gional Hos­pi­tal, Antigo­nish.

Lind­say Kopf and Han­nah Sloan pre­sented the of­fer­tory gifts at the fu­neral Mass. Mu­sic was pro­vided by Heather­ton Folk Choir and Ty Wal­lace.

Pall­bear­ers were Shel­don Hawes, Ad­di­son Hawes, Clay­ton An­der­son, Peter Kopf Jr., Tyler Landry and Zachary Landry.

Born May 11, 1939, in Syd­ney, she was a daugh­ter of the late Peter and Hazel (Mom­bour­quette) Fan­ning. She was em­ployed with St. Martha’s Hos­pi­tal in her early years and later, with St. Fran­cis Xavier Uni­ver­sity. She en­joyed danc­ing, play­ing bingo and gar­den­ing.

She is sur­vived by her hus­band of more than 52 years, James, North Grant; two daugh­ters, Tr­ish (Michael) Chisholm, St. An­drews; Deb­bie (Peter) Kopf, North Grant; two sons, Robert (Tina), De­bert; Ed­ward, Wil­liams Point; nine grand­chil­dren, Tyler, Court­ney, Zachary, Peter, Lyn­d­say, Han­nah, Maia, Dy­lan, Kris­ten; two brothers, Peter, West­mount; Michael, North River; three sis­ters, Janette, On­tario; Betty, Hal­i­fax; Delores, North River.

She was pre­de­ceased by sis­ter, Josephine; two brothers, Nick, Ge­orge.
