Fu­neral ser­vice for the late Alex Hugh Macin­nis, 83, Kingsville, In­ver­ness County, was held Septem­ber 29 in St. Mary’s of the An­gels Church, Glen­dale.

Mr. Macin­nis died Septem­ber 25, 2018, in Strait Rich­mond Hos­pi­tal.

Born Septem­ber 8, 1935, in Maple Brook, he was a son of the late Dan Archie and Sarah (Sadie Lamey) Macin­nis. He was a gen­tle spo­ken man of great faith. He was a hard-work­ing man, hap­pi­est while work­ing out­doors. He was pas­sion­ate about ge­neal­ogy and held a wealth of knowl­edge on the sub­ject, es­pe­cially when it came to his Scot­tish roots. He en­joyed fid­dle mu­sic and was a dog lover. He en­joyed gar­den­ing, his time in the woods and po­lit­i­cal de­bates.

He is sur­vived by his wife of 62 years, Re­becca (Mac­neil); six daugh­ters, Mary Pat (David) El­lig, Margie (Roger) Har­ri­son, Cathy (Michael) Macin­nis, Mur­reen

(Joe) Simms, Ce­cilia (Robert) Bell, Mary Anne (Brian) Macin­tyre; three sons, Dan­nie (Sheila), Don­nie (Nancy), Sandy (Brenda); 20 grand­chil­dren; 16 great-grand­chil­dren; his Mac­neil fam­ily.

He was pre­de­ceased by three brothers, John Dan, John Leo,

Leo, in in­fancy; two grand­sons, Morgan and Lo­gan Macin­tyre.
