Impaired charge laid after crash
A 44-year-old Dover Township man was charged after a crash on Friday. At approximately 6 p.m., Chatham Kent police responded to a motor vehicle collision in Dover. Police arrived on scene and found a man trapped under one of the involved vehicles. Upon being extricated, it was determined he was one of the drivers and was believed to be impaired, police said. The accused was transported to the Chatham Kent Health Alliance where he provided breath tests with results over two and a half times the legal limit, police said. He was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in his blood. The accused was released from police custody with a court date.
