Tilbury man arrested
In February, a 27-year-old Tilbury man was inside the Real Canadian Superstore in Chatham and allegedly stole two sets of headphones. He attended the checkout and paid for other merchandise, but made no attempt to pay for the two hidden headphone sets, police said. When the man exited the store, he was approached by store security who advised him that he was under arrest. The man reportedly ran away from security and left the area in a vehicle. Through investigation, the man was identified, arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000. He was released with a court date, but allegedly did not show up for his court date and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Early Tuesday he was located, arrested and released with another court date.
