Lancers 2-1 at tour­ney

LON­DON – The Ur­su­line Lancers’ se­nior and ju­nior girls teams each went 2-1 at the Western Univer­sity high school rugby tour­na­ment Wed­nes­day. Natasha Smids was the se­nior MVP and Maddi Hath­away was the ju­nior MVP. The Sr. Lancers beat Sar­nia St. Pa­trick’s 22-0 as Mackenna Crombez scored two tries, Crys­tal Mortier and Se­lena Bushey had one apiece, and Janelle Segeren made a con­vert. Mortier, Bushey and Brit­ney Good­hand scored tries and Kahla Lane had a con­vert in a 17-0 win over Sar­nia North­ern. The Sr. Lancers also lost 26-0 to Clin­ton St. Anne’s. The Jr. Lancers beat Lon­don Oakridge 15-0 on tries by Mad­di­son Segeren, Gab­bie Nor­mandin and Alexis Van­box­tel. Sa­van­nah Em­mott scored two tries in a 20-0 win over Lon­don Clarke Road, and Shy­lynn Goetheyn and Lex­eia Forgie had one apiece. The Jr. Lancers also lost 20-0 to Owen Sound.
