Jr. Pa­tri­otes win LKSSAA

SARNIA – The Pain Court Pa­tri­otes won two fi­nals en route to cap­tur­ing the team ti­tle at the LKSSAA ju­nior bad­minton cham­pi­onship Thurs­day. Pain Court fin­ished with 57 points and run­ner-up McGre­gor had 42. Chatham-Kent was a dis­tant third with 18 and Ur­su­line had 16. Olivia Hunter of Pain Court beat McGre­gor’s Na­talie Lit­tle in the girls’ sin­gles fi­nal. Lexi Bar­clay of Lambton Cen­tral was third. Ryan Baker de­feated Josh Kew­ley in an all-McGre­gor boys’ sin­gles fi­nal. Bran­don Hunter of Pain Court was third. Ai­dan La­chine and Ryen Stevens beat Hunter Hen­der­son and Matthieu Gau­drault in an all-Pain Court boys’ dou­bles fi­nal. Tate Bow­den and Pa­trick O’Brien of Ur­su­line were third. Jake Reid and Rachel Carleton of McGre­gor won the mixed dou­bles fi­nal over Pain Court’s Bai­ley Rolph and Court­ney Legere. Jared De­laey and Chloe Stal­laert of Pain Court were third. Jessie McPher­son and Kirby MacK­in­non of Chatham-Kent beat Raine Avey and Micah Moris­sette of Pain Court in the girls’ dou­bles fi­nal. Reese Parks and Kate Balk­will of McGre­gor were third. The top six in each di­vi­sion qual­i­fied for the SWOSSAA cham­pi­onship next Thurs­day in Sarnia. See Page A5 for a list of qual­i­fiers.
