Jr. Patriotes win LKSSAA
SARNIA – The Pain Court Patriotes won two finals en route to capturing the team title at the LKSSAA junior badminton championship Thursday. Pain Court finished with 57 points and runner-up McGregor had 42. Chatham-Kent was a distant third with 18 and Ursuline had 16. Olivia Hunter of Pain Court beat McGregor’s Natalie Little in the girls’ singles final. Lexi Barclay of Lambton Central was third. Ryan Baker defeated Josh Kewley in an all-McGregor boys’ singles final. Brandon Hunter of Pain Court was third. Aidan Lachine and Ryen Stevens beat Hunter Henderson and Matthieu Gaudrault in an all-Pain Court boys’ doubles final. Tate Bowden and Patrick O’Brien of Ursuline were third. Jake Reid and Rachel Carleton of McGregor won the mixed doubles final over Pain Court’s Bailey Rolph and Courtney Legere. Jared Delaey and Chloe Stallaert of Pain Court were third. Jessie McPherson and Kirby MacKinnon of Chatham-Kent beat Raine Avey and Micah Morissette of Pain Court in the girls’ doubles final. Reese Parks and Kate Balkwill of McGregor were third. The top six in each division qualified for the SWOSSAA championship next Thursday in Sarnia. See Page A5 for a list of qualifiers.
