A man was placed on a probation order in August, with a condition that he remain in his residence at all times, with some exceptions. Early Thursday, an officer saw a cyclist riding on King Street West without proper lighting and pulled him over. The cyclist rode off, but eventually was stopped on School Street, where he gave the officer a fake name. Further investigation revealed his true identity. A 27-year-old Chatham man is charged with obstructing police and failing to comply with his probation order. He was held for bail.
