Man arrested for public intoxication
On Friday afternoon, a 62-year-old Chatham man was arrested in the Harvey Street area for public intoxication. He was later released. Man arrested on warrant Chatham-Kent police located a 28-year-old Chatham man Sunday night wanted in connection to property being damaged at the Chatham campus of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
Police said the man was accused of an incident that occurred on Sept. 19 where three lights were damaged that illuminated the sidewalk on the south side of the building, resulting in $300 damage.
Police said the accused fled before police arrived and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Sunday night, police said the accused was arrested after he was located on Wellington Street in Chatham. He was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
