Man ar­rested for pub­lic in­tox­i­ca­tion

On Fri­day af­ter­noon, a 62-year-old Chatham man was ar­rested in the Har­vey Street area for pub­lic in­tox­i­ca­tion. He was later re­leased. Man ar­rested on war­rant Chatham-Kent po­lice lo­cated a 28-year-old Chatham man Sun­day night wanted in con­nec­tion to prop­erty be­ing dam­aged at the Chatham cam­pus of the Chatham-Kent Health Al­liance.

Po­lice said the man was ac­cused of an in­ci­dent that oc­curred on Sept. 19 where three lights were dam­aged that il­lu­mi­nated the side­walk on the south side of the build­ing, re­sult­ing in $300 dam­age.

Po­lice said the ac­cused fled be­fore po­lice ar­rived and a war­rant was is­sued for his ar­rest.

On Sun­day night, po­lice said the ac­cused was ar­rested af­ter he was lo­cated on Welling­ton Street in Chatham. He was taken to po­lice head­quar­ters and held for a bail hear­ing.
