‘AA’ HOCKEY

PEE­WEE AE’S

The Kent TekSavvy Co­bras won the Buck­eye Clas­sic tour­na­ment in dra­matic fash­ion Sun­day in Columbus, Ohio.

Kalib Stone­fish scored in the sev­enth round of a shootout to beat the Ham­burg Hawks 3-2 in the fi­nal. The Co­bras trailed 2-0 un­til Carter Ni­chol­son scored twice in the sec­ond pe­riod.

Ryan Bro­phy had their other shootout goal

Co­bras goalie Car­son Nogueira was the tour­na­ment MVP.

The Co­bras fin­ished with a 3-1 record.

Ja­cob Kosik scored twice in a 6-2 win over the South Hills Pan­thers in the opener. Bro­phy, Ni­chol­son, Sawyer Ritchie and Tan­ner Rush also scored.

Stone­fish, Bro­phy and Carter McLeod scored in a 4-3 loss to the Ham­burg Hawks.

Ni­chol­son had two goals in a 6-4 win over the Columbus ‘AA’ Blue Jack­ets. Braiden Field­house, Kosik, Rush and Ritchie also scored.

NOVICE AE’S

Ash­ton Dittmer and Milo Sun­nen each scored twice in the Kent Co­bras’ 10-1 win over the LaSalle Sabres on Sat­ur­day at Thames Cam­pus Arena.

Colton Simp­son had a goal and two as­sists, Ethan Len­over and Ky­lan McGre­gor each added a goal and an as­sist, and Lu­cas Rasp­burg had five helpers.

Si­mon Hilde­brand, Dane Mor­ris and Da­mon Tope also scored. Luca Rolo had two as­sists.

MA­JOR PEE­WEES

Tyler Harper had the shutout for the Kent Co­bras in a 3-0 win over the Erie North Shore Storm on Sun­day at Thames Cam­pus Arena.

Ry­der Polow­ick scored two goals and Nel­son Dekon­ing net­ted the win­ner.

On Sat­ur­day, Braden Twigg had two goals and three as­sists in a 5-1 win over the Te­cum­seh-Shore­line Ea­gles.

Ven Huizen also scored. Mad­dux Ste­wart was the win­ning goalie.

RINGETTE

PETITES

The Chatham Un­der-12 Thun­der went 1-3 at the Lon­don Lynx tour­na­ment on the week­end.

Kate Thomp­son and Kaia Ri­vard each scored twice in a 5-4 win over the host Lynx in the opener. Myah Wal­ters added a goal and two as­sists. Brooke Howe also had two as­sists.

Ri­vard had a hat trick in a 6-4 loss to the Mis­sis­sauga Mus­tangs, Thomp­son also scored and Wal­ters had two as­sists.

Wal­ters scored in a 5-1 loss to the Ajax Stars, then Ri­vard tal­lied in an­other 5-1 loss to the Stars. Ad­di­son Tope and Natalie Hag­gerty shared the goal­tend­ing all week­end.

JU­NIORS

The Chatham Un­der-16 Thun­der were 1-2 at the Lon­don Lynx tour­na­ment on the week­end.

Emily Raay­mak­ers had a hat trick and two as­sists in a 9-2 win over the Paris Thun­der in the opener. Em­i­lie New­man also had a hat trick and one as­sist.

Shelby Ritzer added two goals and two as­sists, Ju­lia Hag­gerty also scored and Ire­land DaSilva was the win­ning goalie.

Alexa Ar­bour and Ritzer scored in a 4-2 loss to Rich­mond Hill. Raay­mak­ers and Emily An­der­son scored in a 4-2 loss to New­mar­ket.
