Age 82 of Melanson, passed away on June 26, 2020 in her home. She was the daughter of the late Jacob Leslie and the late Lila Mary (Brewster) Jordan, and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Velma was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, DR C.B. Lumsden Branch 74, Wolfville, the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing; loved playing games, bingo and cards. Velma would make the most delicious meals, baked goods and loved pickling and preserving. She would also lend a hand to whoever was in need whenever she was able to help. She will be remembered as a mother to all. Velma is survived by daughters, Beverley (Floyd) Boulter, O’leary, P.E.I.; Heather (Harvey) Bulger, O’leary, P.E.I.; sons, Michael (Susan) Bent, Beaver Bank; Robert (Heidi) Bent, Happy Valley, Goosebay, N.L.; grandchild­ren, Nellie, David, Andrew, Michael, Terry, Amber, April, Theresa, Mary, Dennis, Jordan, Alex, Rylan, Cole and Nolan; great-grandchild­ren, Shilo, Tirese, Josie, Ethan, Bianca, Brittney, Keira, Arianna, Nathan, Hannah, Evan, Ashlyn, Elisha, Nikita and Max. Besides her parents, Velma was predecease­d by her loving husband, Charles Richard; son, Charles Frederick; grandson, Leslie; sisters, Florence, Gertrude, Annie, Bessie; brothers, Morris, David, Whinton, Auston, Daniel and Whylie. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 4th, at 2 p.m. in Wolfville Funeral Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
