Two physi­cians join CHA med­i­cal staff

- The Cum­ber­land Health Au­thor­ity an­nounced last week that two new physi­cians have re­cently joined its med­i­cal staff.

Fam­ily physi­cian Dr. John Atia and child and ado­les­cent psy­chi­a­trist Dr. Saleem Kir- mani are both now prac­tic­ing in the Amherst area.

CEO Bruce Quigley said the new physi­cians are wel­come ad­di­tions to the district.

“ The ar­rival of Dr. Atia and Dr. Kir­mani is tes­ta­ment to our very ac­tive and on­go­ing re­cruit­ment ef­forts,” he said. “Physi­cian re­cruit­ment re­mains a very com­pet­i­tive process and we are pleased to wel­come th­ese doc­tors to our com­mu­nity.”

Atia comes to Cum­ber­land County from St. Al­ban’s, N.L., where he has been prac­tic­ing fam­ily medicine since 2006. He is a grad­u­ate of Cairo Uni­ver­sity in Egypt.

Psy­chi­a­trist Dr. Saleem Kir­mani is orig­i­nally from Pak­istan and is a grad­u­ate of Sindh Med­i­cal Col­lege.
