Automatic process saves time, money

The Citizen-Record (Cumberland) - - HISTORY -

HALFWAY RIVER — Wylie Gallagher has seen sawmilling come a long way in the 25 years he has been in the trade. He figures that his predecessors would think his job is pretty soft compared to the days when timber was manhandled to a saw blade powered by water or steam.

Today Gallagher, resembling a science fiction character with acoustical headgear, sits before the keyboard of buttons and switches, as part of an automated process that saves time.
