Sewing circle remembers wartime family
The East Mapleton-Leamington Sewing Circle met on Nov. 3, 2014, at the home of Marlene Millard with ten members present.
President, Ruth Foster, conducted the meeting. In keeping with Remembrance Day, members shared their thoughts and memories of loved ones who were in the War and made a memorial donation in their honor, realizing $105. Betty Harrison read the Poem “In Flanders Fields.”
Minutes from the last meeting were read and approved.
Marlene Millard, treasurer, gave an excellent report. No correspondence. Monies for the Christmas For Kids Campaign were collected and will be forwarded.
It was moved that we again support Springhill Lions Club, St. Vincent dePaul, and Autumn House and turkeys for Salvation Army.
