Community Christmas party scheduled for Dec. 6
Thank you to all those who attended last month and to our new members. Also, thank you to Anne Stronge, the voice behind your calls reminding and inviting you to the meetings. If you would like to receive a call, please let her or one of us know. We again invite you to come enjoy a hot drink and sweets with us while we discuss events to help our community.
The meeting on Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. will have a busy agenda again. Some of the items on the agenda will be - update on the value of the restaurant equipment and its sale in the campground building; the rink start-up - especially help to lay the liner, library, etc. This will be our last meeting of 2014. Our next meeting will be on Jan. 28th, 2015.
Exciting plans are in the works for the kiosk/picnic area beside the store. Su and John Kelley have donated funds to have Gerry Field build a giant lobster and Else Marie Osterman is looking at a plan for a map showing what businesses and activities are available in our area.
The liner for the rink was put down this weekend, much earlier this year. Thank you to all of those who helped. Two thousand gallons of water have also been put down. The log building is going to be heated and available for use again this winter, so maybe a couple of fundraising events to help with the future stages can be arranged - if you have an idea, bring it to us. The building is also available for reasonable rent by any of you wishing to do so. John is the person to talk to at 902-392-2624.
The 50/50 draw was won by Donnie Fletcher. Tickets are on sale with Kathleen Spicer, Richard Cole and Marilyn MacKinnon.
The community Christmas party is going to be on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. The lunch committee is preparing light snacks and drinks and everyone is invited to this free event. Santa will be present (remember to bring a little something for your child from Santa) and music is planned. We are looking forward to seeing you and your family.
We hope you can make it - coffee and tea will be ready at 6:45 p.m., along with sweet treats. See you there and we will do our best to have you on your way by 8:30 p.m. Remember to mark your calendars for ADDA on the last Wednesday of every month, and let's make a difference.
