An­nual spring con­cert at band hall May 28

The Parrsboro Band As­so­ci­a­tion will hold its an­nual spring con­cert on Sun­day, May 28, at “The Hall” on King Street. The mu­sic will be­gin at 7 p.m.

Per­form­ing will be Parrsboro Jazz Group, King St. Strum­mers, Parrsboro Citizens’ Choir and The Elas­tic Big Band.

The band hat will be passed around dur­ing the con­cert. Do­na­tions will go to­ward keep­ing mu­sic alive in the hall.

Mem­ber­ships will be avail­able that night so if you have not re­newed your mem­ber­ship, you can do it that night or at any event at the hall. When there is a spe­cial event go­ing to take place at the hall, mem­bers find out first. It is $15 for sin­gle or $25 for a fam­ily.

Tick­ets will also be sold on a gar­den cart do­nated by Randy and Pa­tri­cia Mosher. Tick­ets are $2 each or three for $5. Draw­ing will take place on Satur­day, June 3, at the an­nual plant sale.

Tick­ets are also now be­ing sold on 25 pounds of lob­ster. The price is $2 each or three for $5. Draw will take place on Sun­day, July 23.

Movie night at the hall will be Wed­nes­day, May 17, at 7:30 p.m., show­ing La La Land. Make sure you ar­rive by 7:15 p.m. to se­cure a good seat and, of course, or­der pop­corn. On Wed­nes­day, May 31, the show will be Pawn Sac­ri­fice. This was shown be­fore but, due to a tech­ni­cal glitch, it stopped half­way through the movie.

The last open mike will be held on Fri­day, May 19, at 7 p.m. A summer break will be taken to al­low for “Con­certs in the Park” to start on Sun­day, June 4, at 7 p.m. These con­certs are very pop­u­lar and hap­pen ev­ery Sun­day night dur­ing the summer at the band­stand in Parrsboro. Do­na­tions raised go to the mu­si­cians’ char­ity of choice.
