North Kentville man ac­cused of light­ing socks ablaze at New Mi­nas RCMP de­tach­ment

A North Kentville man charged with two counts of mis­chief – one in­volv­ing a pulled fire alarm and one in­volv­ing light­ing his socks on fire – will be back in court in June.

Levi Starr Ger­tridge, 22, is charged with com­mit­ting mis­chief by will­fully pulling and break­ing the han­dle of the fire alarm at West­side Char­lie’s in New Mi­nas; as­sault­ing a police of­fi­cer en­gaged in the ex­e­cu­tion of his duty, mak­ing a false alarm of a fire by out­cry at the New Mi­nas RCMP de­tach­ment and com­mit­ting mis­chief by will­fully set­ting fire to his socks at the New Mi­nas RCMP de­tach­ment.

Ger­tridge was present in Kentville pro­vin­cial court on May 23. His mat­ters were ad­journed to June 6 for plea and to al­low time for the ac­cused to seek le­gal coun­sel. It’s al­leged that Ger­tridge com­mit­ted the of­fences on April 1. The charges have not been proven in court.
